Privacy Policy

Information about how Matchday Germany processes personal data.

Last updated: August 2026

1. Controller

The controller responsible for the processing of personal data on this website is:

Matchday Germany
Operated by Aaron Akrutat
Wohltorfer Straße 32b
21465 Reinbek
Germany

Email: contact@matchdaygermany.com

We have not appointed a data protection officer, as the statutory thresholds under Art. 37 GDPR and § 38 BDSG are not met.

2. Overview

Matchday Germany is a content website. It has no user accounts, no newsletter, no comment function, no shop and no advertising network. The only personal data we process is the technical data required to deliver the website, and whatever you send us if you write to us.

We use no analytics, no tracking pixels and no third-party embeds. This is why the site works without a consent banner.

3. Website Hosting and Server Log Data

This website is hosted by:

Vercel Inc.
440 N Barranca Ave #4133
Covina, CA 91723
United States

A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the hosting provider.

When you access this website, the following data is transmitted by your browser and processed in server log files:

  • IP address
  • Date and time of the request
  • The page or resource requested
  • HTTP status code and volume of data transferred
  • Browser type and version, operating system and device type
  • Referrer URL, where transmitted by your browser

This data is processed to deliver the website, maintain its technical stability, identify and correct faults, and defend against attacks and misuse.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest is the secure and reliable operation of this website. Providing this data is technically necessary to visit the site; it cannot be withheld while still accessing the content.

Retention: Server log data is deleted after 14 days, unless a specific security incident requires longer retention for its investigation.

4. Transfer to the United States

Our hosting provider is established in the United States, and data described in section 3 is processed there.

Vercel Inc. self-certifies under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, supplemented by Standard Contractual Clauses. On this basis the European Commission has recognised an adequate level of protection for certified organisations in its adequacy decision of 10 July 2023, and the transfer takes place under Art. 45 GDPR, supplemented by the standard contractual clauses referred to in Art. 46(2)(c) GDPR.

You should be aware that United States authorities may, under certain conditions, be able to access data held by providers subject to their jurisdiction, and that enforcing data subject rights against a body outside the EU can be more difficult in practice.

5. Domain and DNS Services

The domains used by Matchday Germany are registered through:

IONOS SE
Elgendorfer Straße 57
56410 Montabaur
Germany

The provider operates the technical domain and DNS services that make this website reachable under its domain names. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; our legitimate interest is operating the site under its own domain.

6. Fonts

This website uses the typefaces Bebas Neue and Inter. Both are downloaded at build time and delivered from our own server together with the rest of the site.

Your browser makes no connection to Google Fonts or to any other external font provider, and no data is transmitted to such a provider when you visit this site.

7. Images, Maps and Media

All images, graphics and map assets on this website are stored on our own infrastructure and delivered from it. There are no embedded maps, videos, social media widgets or other third-party elements that would establish a connection to an external service when you open a page.

The images themselves are AI-generated. That does not involve processing any personal data of visitors; how they are produced is explained on the AI Transparency page.

8. Cookies and Similar Technologies

This website sets no cookies and uses no comparable technologies such as local storage or device fingerprinting. No consent is required, and no consent banner is displayed.

Should technologies requiring consent be introduced in the future, a consent mechanism compliant with § 25 TDDDG will be implemented before they are activated, and this policy will be updated beforehand.

9. Analytics and Advertising

We use no web analytics, no advertising networks and no cross-site tracking. Google Analytics, Meta Pixel and comparable services are not used.

10. Contacting Us

If you write to us at the email address given above, we process the content of your message, your email address, and any further information you choose to provide, for the purpose of handling your enquiry.

The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, our legitimate interest being to respond to enquiries addressed to us. Where your message concerns a contract or steps taken prior to entering into one, the legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

Retention: Correspondence is deleted 6 months after the enquiry has been concluded, unless statutory retention obligations under commercial or tax law require otherwise.

11. Recipients of Personal Data

Personal data is disclosed only to the processors named in sections 3 and 5, each of which acts on our instructions under a data processing agreement. Beyond that, data is disclosed only where we are legally obliged to do so.

There is no automated decision-making, including profiling, within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR.

12. External Links

This website contains links to websites and services operated by third parties. Following such a link takes you to a site whose operator processes data independently and under its own privacy policy. We have no influence over that processing.

13. Affiliate Links

Matchday Germany currently uses no affiliate links and receives no commission on any booking or purchase.

Should this change, affiliate links will be visibly marked as advertising at the link itself, and this policy will be updated before any affiliate tracking is activated.

14. Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • Obtain access to the personal data we process about you (Art. 15)
  • Have inaccurate data corrected (Art. 16)
  • Have your data erased (Art. 17)
  • Have processing restricted (Art. 18)
  • Receive your data in a portable format (Art. 20)
  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests, on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21)
  • Withdraw any consent you have given, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3))

To exercise any of these rights, write to contact@matchdaygermany.com.

15. Right to Lodge a Complaint

You have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority. The authority competent for us is:

Unabhängiges Landeszentrum für Datenschutz Schleswig-Holstein (ULD)
Holstenstraße 98
24103 Kiel
Germany
www.datenschutzzentrum.de

You may also complain to the supervisory authority of your habitual residence or place of work.

16. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We update this policy when our services, our technical infrastructure or our processing activities change, or when legal requirements make it necessary. The current version is always available at this address.
