Stadium
Olympiastadion Berlin
Originally constructed for the 1936 Summer Olympics, the Olympiastadion has hosted some of the most significant sporting events in history. Its historic shell was extensively modernised before the 2006 FIFA World Cup.
The oval layout, open roof structure and surrounding parkland make the stadium fundamentally different from Germany's purpose-built football grounds.
Ostkurve

Getting There
Direct from central Berlin.
From Berlin Hauptbahnhof, take the S5 towards Spandau and alight at Olympiastadion. Travel time is approximately 15–20 minutes.
From Berlin Brandenburg Airport, take the Airport Express to Hauptbahnhof and continue with the S5. Total travel time is approximately 50–65 minutes.
Parking is available in the Olympic Park, although traffic can be heavy. Public transport is recommended.

Arriving 90–120 minutes before kick-off gives you enough time to explore the Olympiastadion, the Olympic Park and the historic architecture surrounding the venue.
Olympic Park
The wider complex includes the Waldbühne, the Bell Tower and extensive parkland. It is worth exploring before entering the stadium.
Inside The Stadium
Scale, history and the Ostkurve.
The running track places supporters further from the pitch than in compact football grounds, but the scale of the Olympiastadion creates its own kind of drama. For major fixtures, flags and choreography in the Ostkurve transform the enormous bowl.

After The Match
Return to the city.
Most supporters head back towards the S-Bahn station after the final whistle. Because the stadium is surrounded by parkland, post-match activity tends to continue in central districts such as Ku'damm, Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg.
Waiting 20–30 minutes before leaving can make the journey considerably more comfortable.
