A café, the market around the Münster when operating, or another walk through the Bächle-lined streets gives you a final sense of central Freiburg before heading towards the stadium.
Then switch from city mode to matchday mode and make your way north-west towards the Europa-Park Stadion.
Tip: Aim to reach the stadium area 90–120 minutes before kick-off. The stadium itself normally opens two hours before the match.

Public transport connects central Freiburg with the stadium, and match tickets include travel within the RVF network from five hours before kick-off until the end of service.
Arrive early enough to experience the build-up around the stadium rather than treating the journey as a last-minute transfer from the old town.
Inside, the contrast is part of the story: one of Germany's newer stadiums hosting a club whose identity was formed over decades in a very different ground on the other side of the city.
Getting there: Use Freiburg's public transport network towards the Europa-Park Stadion or the Breisgau-S-Bahn to FR Messe / Universität.
Tip: Your match ticket includes RVF public transport from five hours before kick-off, so there is little reason to drive to the stadium.
After the final whistle, use public transport to return towards central Freiburg.
The Altstadt is the stronger destination for the rest of the evening, with restaurants and bars concentrated within a compact area.
A Freiburg matchday does not need a separate football nightlife district to complete it. Returning to the old town reconnects the football experience with the city around it.

Sunday connects the modern SC Freiburg you saw on Saturday with the ground where much of its identity was formed.
Sunday Morning
Head east from the city centre towards the Dreisamstadion, SC Freiburg's long-time home before the men's first team moved to the Europa-Park Stadion in 2021.
The ground opened in 1955 and became inseparable from the rise of SC Freiburg. Its compact stands, location beside the Dreisam and gradual development over decades gave the stadium a character very different from Freiburg's new home.
The story did not end when the Bundesliga team moved out. The Dreisamstadion remains part of the club and continues to host SC Freiburg teams and activities.
Tip: Think of the Dreisamstadion as living football history rather than an abandoned former ground.
